What participants have to say about our program…
“Healing through the Arts has been instrumental in helping our patients and caregivers relieve stress and anxiety. It is amazing to witness the positive and healing effects that art can have on one’s body, mind and soul.”
“One of the first outings I attended was the Healing Through the Arts program. It literally changed my life, giving me a wonderful, safe place where I could leave all my troubles behind for an hour or so to create and explore art and not be judged. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and class, our tour guides were fantastic, and our wonderful instructor was so kind, gentle, and encouraging. We were gifted a beautiful kit to use that day and take home with us, and what a gift that was. I couldn’t wait to get home and continue creating, it was so freeing for me. I didn’t realize how much art could help in my healing, but soon discovered that it actually reduces my stress and anxiety, helps to focus my mind, keeps me calm, and mostly brings me joy. And as a bonus, I made an amazing group of new friends along the way. With so many unexpected expenses that health issues can bring, I truly appreciate that this program has been offered at no-cost, this is truly a healing gift that I will forever be grateful for. ”
“Healing through the Arts lent another dimension to heal. I put color and design to the struggle within. ”
“Three cheers for these programs offered through the Delaware Art Museum... Exposing me to new methods of relaxation and learning alternate techniques have been beneficial for me... Art Journaling was more than I could have imagined. The supply pack was top notch. I had fun and I look forward to trying the resources shared.
I’ve always liked music, but the Power of Music was enlightening. After one session, my eyes/ears have been opened. Participating in these programs from the comfort of my home has been wonderful. I got to meet others in a similar situation and learned to get my creative juices flowing to reduce stress and relax.
Thank you; I look forward to participating in future programs.”
