The path without you
The path without you is
rocky and bent
full of bumps and smoothness
yearnings and acceptance
light and darkness
bends and twists
remembrance and longings
it is the path I must walk today
in never ending discovery
fresh pains each new day
at night as I lay sleeping
you visit and fuel the next day’s walk
answering the questions my heart yearns to know
joy and sorrow co-existing
the flower flourishes next to the dry, cracked soil
the grass grows even as the tree roots rot
I make the path by walking
I make the path by walking
I make the path by walking
